Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12

God has chosen you personally to belong to Him.

God has given you your very own unique collection of gifts, personalitity traits and experiencese to serve Him in a way that no other person in the past, present or future can.

God has promised to be with you and to help you in your life.

Like a good father, God wants the best for you. The Bible tells us that life will not be easy or perfect. God gives us what we NEED, but not always what we WANT.

You are discovering who God has created you to be:
You are figuring out which classes you like best in school, you are learning which hobbies interest you most,
you are learning how to get along with people,
you are trying to figure out what career God would like you to have,
you are trying to figure out who, if anyone, you should someday marry.

The teen years are a VERY important and sometimes confusing time in your life.

Remember that Jesus knows what it's like to be a teenager because He was a teenager too. He understands all the joys and struggles you're having. Most importantly, He CARES about you and is interested in EVERYTHING you care about. Know that you can pray any time about anything and God will be listening.

The Real World
of the Bible

Did you know that Iraq is just a little bit to the east of where most of the things we read about in the Bible happened?

The names of many of the cities and countries have changed since Bible times, but some are still the same. See if you can find the following places on a current map (the name may be spelled differently now, but the Bibe name is sometimes also listed)

Bethlehem (where Jesus was born - Luke 2:4-7)

Damascus (Paul was converted on his way to Damascus - Acts 9)

Egypt (Where the Israelites were in slavery before Moses led them away - Exodus 1:8-10, the country where Jesus was taken as a baby to keep Him safe - Matthew 2:13)

Jerusalem (where King Solomon built the Temple about 3000 years ago - , where Jesus visited the Temple - Luke 2:41-52)

Jordan River (where the Isaraelites crossed into the promised land - Joshua 3:1 - 4:24, where Elisha told Naaman to wash to get healed - , where Jesus was baptized - Matthew 3:13)

Nazareth (where Jesus grew up - Matthew 2:19-23)

Red Sea (where Moses parted the water so that the Israelites could escape from being slaves in Egypt - Exodus 13:17-18 & 14:21-22)
